General Notes:
This info from Jane Cote (mother: Erma Brennan) I did some more searching in the Archives du Quebec and found the record of the purchase of the farm of Dennis Brennan and Jane Casey, both of whom signed the document since it also includeed a mortgage that they had to take out to acquire the land. I was much relieved to see that Dennis could sign his name in a half literate manner. As we already knew, Jane Angela Casey who was in school until she married, had a plain but obviously practised hand. I got photocopies of that and many others The Brennans came originally from Castlecomer, County Kilkenny in Ireland, probably around the 1820s or 30s. I (Jane Cote) visited the cemetery in Castlecomer and discovered that about 80% of the people buried there are Brennans. The County seems to have very few other surnames. .
Dennis married Jane Angela Casey, daughter of James Casey and Maria Hawley, on 29 Jun 1881 in St. Michael's, Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario, Canada. (Jane Angela Casey was born on 1 Feb 1863 in March, Ontario, Canada and died in 1927 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.)
