Elizabeth Marbach was born in Germany and immigrated to Portland, Oregon at age eleven. They later resided in the Allan district. Mr. and Mrs. Barry, original owners of the Barry Hotel in Saskatoon were instrumental in bringing J.J. and Elizabeth together and remained life long friends.
Uncle Roy remembers visiting his Marbach grandparents and chasing their ducks. The old folks would get quite excited and yell at them in German to leave the ducks alone. Even though the Marbach house rule was: outside the house door, no speaking German, only English. He guessed that excited udcks made them forget their own rule.
Elizabeth married John James (JJ) O'Hara, son of John (Jack) O'Hara and Elizabeth Mary Nash, in 1909. (John James (JJ) O'Hara was born on 27 Aug 1886 in March Corners, Ontario, Canada and died on 24 Sep 1966 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.)
