  General Notes:

Registered with Ontario birth records as Joseph Francis (Frank) Fiske O'Hara. Frank's grandfather was Joseph. The Irish custom was for the first born male child be named after his grandfather.

Irish custom : 4th April 1926, Ontario

Frank O'Hara discovered, to his great surprise, that he was Christened "Joseph Francis Fiske", not "Francis Joseph Fiske". It turns out that the Irish custom is to name the first born male child after the grandfather. So I was actually Christened Joseph Francis Fiske, BTW - The name "Fiske" was after a well-known Irish singer of the time, "Fiske O'Hara" - no relation. When Frank was in Norway he discovered that fiske means "fish"!

Franks's father, always known as Lee, actually was Christened "Thomas Edward Leo", consistent with his grandfather's first name, "Thomas". When my father joined the Canadian army in 1914 he had to present proof of age. When his father found out that "Lee" had actually been Christened "Leo" things almost turned to fisticuffs when Joseph took this up with the parish priest. The latter insisted that "He had to be named after a saint". Joseph is reputed to have responded "There's got to be a first one" My father, as first son, was Christened "Thomas" after his grandfather, who had emigrated from Ireland.

We don't know whether or not Frank's great grandfather, Thomas, was a "first born". In that case, the Irish great grandfather father of our family would have been named "Thomas". This could possibly help someone tracing our ancestory at the Library in Dublin, where Frank struck out some years ago.

Yes on 13 Jun 1953 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (Austra Liza Evele was born on 25 Jan 1927 in Liepaja, Latvia and died in Jan 1999 in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada.). The cause of her death was Diabetes.

Frank next married Jean Constance Ferguson on 13 Sep 1971 in Toronto, Ontario. (Jean Constance Ferguson was born @1930 in Jamaica.)

  Marriage Notes:

Frank's 2nd marriage was to Jean Constance Furguson (Bartels), 13th October, 1971. Unfortunately, she had to deal with many challenges as a result of my children, particularly Thomas and Andrew, both of whom developed Schizophrenia. Struggles of Frank's launching of an under-financed business didn't help. Divorced on August 10,1979.

Frank next married Marion Eva Raycheba on 2 Apr 2003 in Toronto, Ontario. (Marion Eva Raycheba was born on 18 Aug 1945 in Leader, Saskatchewan.)
