From the Aitkin Independent Age, Oct. 12, 1934
Mrs. Emma Casey, widow of Patrick Casey, passed away Sunday evening at her home. She suffered a heart attack and expired in a few minutes after being about her home during the day, although she had been in frail health for several years. Mrs. Casey was born in Eastern Canada and came to Aitkin in 1882 as the bride of Patrick Casey pioneer lumberman and merchant and one of the founders of the Potter- Casey company which has since dissolved. The Patrick Casey company now being handled by the two sons. Mrs. Casey has lived a retired life since the death of her husband 25 years ago, maintaining the family home with her daughter, Miss Irma. She was
a devout and faithful member of St. James Catholic church from which her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Surviving their mother are the two sons and 4 daughters, J.A Casey, P.C Casey and Miss Irma Casey of Aitkin Mrs. D.A Coffey (Celestine Casey) of Los Angeles: Mrs. Joe O Hara ( Nora Casey) of Sacramento Calif and Sister Cyril Claire ( Elizabeth Casey) of Minneapolis All four are at home for the funeral. Four brothers and two sisters, Thos. Killeen and Mrs. Thos. N Shirley,
Aitkin, Dennis Killeen, Arnprior Ontario, Canada: Mrs James Whelan, Ottawa Canada: Mrs Katherine Carroll, Duluth and Albert Killeen, Vancouver. The pallbearers will be Dr. R.F McHugh, Dr. DJ Murphy, L.T Mahany, John Cameron, I.W Cummings and A.L Chatelle.

High blood pressure and chronic endocarditis, according to newspaper report of her death
